Responses to our Questions of the Week:

Tell us about your first concert

Tonic and Vertical Horzion at Bonne Fete in Baton Rouge. I was in, what?, maybe 7th or 8th grade with two of my best friends and had no idea what I was getting into, but had a great time anyway. I still love those bands, actually.

If it wasn't for those meddling kids...what would you have gotten away with?

Meddling kids? Hardly! It's those meddling teachers! If they hadn't been there, think of all the scandalous stories of Ancient Egypt with which I could have educated children!

What kind of gifts are you giving in this holiday season?

My family members are all receiving books - it's a favored gift around our house. My Secret Santa recipient is likely also getting a book - along with a sweet Labyrinth ID case.

I grew up on Mike, so of course I prefer him.

Tell us about your guiltiest pleasure.

Do people really still feel guilt over pleasuring themselves?

Oh, well, I guess I do have an enjoyable activity that I feel guilty for partaking in: shopping. Dipping into savings to pay the rent always makes me feel a little blue, but then I slip into a new dress or jeans and feel the warm curl of guilty pleasure wrapping around me.

What has Spring sprung for you?

Spring has sprung me from the confines of my Winter car (an 18-year-old Lexus) and into the freedom of a Spring-chicken Mini Clubman (just my size!).

Warmer weather means more sunshine and flowers and stinging caterpillars, so I've also gotten a sunburn and horrible allergies. Hopefully I can leave those behind and go a bit blonder with increased exposure to sunlight.

And, most importantly, Spring is the season of young love, which I have got more of than I know what to do with. One of my best friends is getting married mid-May, and I've somehow pared down my ridiculous dating life to one super-serious suitor and a semi-jealous ex-boyfriend-turned-best-friend.

It's been an interesting Spring so far.

If someone asked to buy your DNA (i.e. sperm/eggs) for 1 million, citing genetic and physical superiority as the reason, would you?

I ain't doin' nothin' with my DNA, but just think of all the things I could do with a million dollars!

Cheese or oral? Which would you give up for the rest of your life?

People who know me know that I do not like cheese and I never have - except on pizza. God, I love pizza.

However, I feel that I am not in a position to choose, having not experienced an exceeding amount of either option.

Still. Pizza. I get the feeling this will be a tough decision.

What's the best present you ever received?

Yes. Though the dirndl was a pretty awesome gift as well.

What would your dream job consist of?

Well, I mean. Obviously.

Truly, I wouldn't have just ONE dream job. I would spend my weekdays mostly at a museum, working with the collection but behind the scenes, as a conservationist. Weekend nights, though? I want to be a lounge singer. Through a little world travel in there as an archeoarchitect and that's pretty much my dream jobs.

Who's your famous doppleganger?

Melissa Joan Hart is the number one most common celebrity comparison I get, and I have no idea why.

One of my favorite singer/songwriters once compared me to Elisabeth Shue, though, and I've heard that a few times since.

And then, of course, Mae West and Marilyn Monroe.

If you could take part in one historical event, what would it be and why?

In 1922, sexy beast Howard Carter discovered one of the most captivating tombs ever found in Egypt: that of boy-ruler King Tutankamun.

Would I have been there? I would have killed to be there. Do I already have a slight obsession with the 1920s? I ask you this: Does Thoroughly Modern Millie bob her hair?

Yes, yes she does.

Where are you going, and more importantly, why should we follow you there?

Ireland!

Well, in like a year I'll be going to Ireland. Cute boys with accents?! Yes, ma'am! But y'all should definitely come because...well...I'll be there.

Describe your most pretentious habit.

I just LOVE harassing cool young things on OKCupid by flaunting my faux knowledge of all things Norse. That's pretty pretentious, right?

What completely irrational beliefs get you through the day?

My work is totally lame, right? So I spend a lot of time there counting down the hours until I leave and get to go to the gym, where I irrationally believe I can get myself a bikini body by summer. YAY, BIKINIS!
